Henry Ford and The Modle T!
Henry Ford (1863 - 1947) brought upon the change that lasted up until today, he revolutionized the automobile industry. In the time period, the automobile was not something that every person had, due to it being a thing for the rich, but with Ford’s mindset that helped him with the creation of the Model T which was a dependable and affordable car. The Model T became a common essential thing that every household had, and with all these vehicles being sold, the industries that were needed to uphold the automobiles came into play such as gas stations, roads and etc. The Model T was so affordable that it grew out from being one per household as a ‘household vehicles” to it becoming a necessity to every individual. The Model T was sturdy, had a high-roof, it was a 4-cylinder, and 20 horsepower engine. Sales were impressive, high demand reaching 248,000 in 1914, or nearly half the U.S. market. The heavy demand for cars forced Ford to try/start new methods of production. He built the largest and most modern factory in America on a 60-acre tract in Highland Park, Michigan. The Model T helped grow and develop the field of car dealerships; there was at least one Ford dealership in every town with a population that was greater than 2,000 people. But by the late 1920s the Model T was beginning to look out of style, so it was soon replaced by the Model A. (Model T: The Car for the Masses.)
